Not Without Grace

In this new season of my life, I’ve come to accept that we come to these specific points in our journey with Christ where doing the required work… accomplishing the necessary task… living the normal day to day life is not sufficient enough to retain one’s spiritual nourishment. A point where the ordinary is no longer satisfactory. Thankful though I am, It’s an odd situation in which I’m humbled and forced into a position where I find myself clamoring and reaching out with my heart towards my Faith in wholly new ways and experiences. I’m pressed to search for my God in greater and mightier ways. Especially in the most recent of days, I’ve been challenged to look inward into my own heart to reassess the Love I hold for the Lord… and in turn, discover the destiny Christ has laid before my feet.

This thought has made me think about my life. Throughout my many years of service for the Lord, I’ve seen unbelievable things. I’ve Loved and felt the Love from those whom I have served. I’ve been a part of some of the greatest, most earth shaking worships anyone will ever experience. I’ve even shared some of the most amazing laughs with people so inspiring, so giving, so in Love with Christ… that it moves me to quiet tears knowing that I am beyond blessed. It’s unfathomable to think on where I’ve been and now where I’m going all due to the Grace of God.

However, though all these wonderfully, life-fulfilling experiences have been revealed to me, I have yet to truly experience and behold the end result of Christ’s refinement in my soul. For in every celebration of His sacrifice… in every gentle kiss of His mercy… with every warm embrace by His many Graces… I am becoming branded with his essence. In this Grace I have come to know that there will be no greater Love, than the Love Christ holds for my heart. Knowing this, I have a much stronger Faith in the Lord knowing that He has a watchful eye on my future and my well-being. I will Trust and Honor you Lord in all that you have in store for me.

I feel different today. I feel like I’ve come back from Chicago with a newer sense of purpose in not just my service… not just my Love for the Youth… not just in my respect and devotion to the Holy Sacrifice… but for life. In this short amount of time, the Lord has shattered my thoughts of life and rearranged it perfectly in the image of His most Blessed and Sacred Heart. It truly feels unreal. During my time away from Sacramento… it’s weird to say… but I felt right at home amongst people who Loved the Lord so fiercely. People so hungry for the Lord that you can’t help but feel the essence of the Lord oozing from their words, actions and prayer. Being with people like that doesn’t just humble me to be a better person, but it also makes me want to strive towards a Truly Holy life. I’ve become a new person.

I recall a sharing from a brother during the SHOUT retreat say during one of his Exhortations when he said something so ordinary, yet incredibly profound:

“The Lord is ready for us, but are we truly ready for him?”

Was I ready for the Lord to change my heart? Was I viewing my Lord as merely a Saviour and a King… instead of a friend and a Lover? Needless to say, ever since he’s said this… my world was turned on its head.

All in all, I want to say that this short time in my life has really set the new tone for how I’m going to be living my life from now on. My hunger and thirst for the Lord has developed into something unimaginable and it is because of this that my life truly has transformed into something truly and undescribably beautiful. I’m going to treat my family different, I’m going to treat my brothers and sisters in Christ differently, I’m going to treat strangers differently, but most of all, I’m going to Love the Lord with a renewed sense of humility and appreciation.

It’s scary, but I’m coming closer to you Lord. I pray… and will do my best to bring you all with me.

I Love being in Love with the Lord… and I’m sure he feels the same way about me.
